Cookie policy
Which cookies and similar technologies this website uses, why, for how long, and how to accept, reject or change your choice at any time.

1. What cookies are
A cookie is a small file a website stores on your device when you visit. It remembers things about your visit: the language you chose, whether you prefer dark mode, or whether you accepted statistics.
Alongside cookies proper, this site uses browser local storage (localStorage), which works equivalently and is subject to the same rules. In this document "cookies" covers both.
2. Which cookies we use
This is the complete inventory. We use no advertising cookies, no ad-personalisation cookies and no cross-site tracking.
| Name | Owner | Purpose | Type | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| atyp_lang | Atypical Tech (first party) | Remembers the language you chose so it is not asked again on every page. | Strictly necessary (no consent required) | 12 months |
| atyp_theme | Atypical Tech (first party) | Remembers your light or dark theme preference. | Strictly necessary (no consent required) | Until cleared |
| atyp_analytics_consent | Atypical Tech (first party) | Stores your decision on analytics cookies, so the notice is not shown again and the choice can be evidenced. | Strictly necessary (no consent required) | 12 months |
| _ga | Google Ireland Limited | Distinguishes users in order to produce aggregate usage statistics. | Analytics (consent required) | 24 months |
| _ga_XXXXXXXXXX | Google Ireland Limited | Maintains analytics session state. | Analytics (consent required) | 24 months |
| Session and authentication cookies | Atypical Tech (first party) | Keeps the session open in the private content administration area. Never set for the general public. | Strictly necessary (no consent required) | Session |
3. Legal basis and consent
Strictly necessary cookies are needed to deliver the service you asked for and are exempt from consent under article 22(2) LSSI-CE.
Analytics cookies are only set if you accept them explicitly. Until you do, the site loads no Google component whatsoever: not a single request reaches their servers, not even an anonymous one.
Your choice is stored for 12 months. After that you are asked again, in line with the Spanish Data Protection Agency's guidance.
4. Accepting, rejecting or changing your choice
On your first visit a notice appears with two equally accessible options: accept or reject. Rejecting does not restrict access to any content.
You can change your mind whenever you like through the "Cookie settings" link in the footer of every page. It brings the notice back, and your new choice replaces the previous one.
If you withdraw a consent you had given, we stop loading the analytics tool immediately. Cookies Google had already placed in your browser can be removed from your browser's own settings, as described below.
5. International transfers
If you accept analytics cookies, Google may process data in the United States under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. The detail is in the privacy policy.
6. Managing cookies in your browser
Independently of the above, you can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Note that blocking strictly necessary cookies may affect how the site works.
7. Changes to this policy
If we add new cookies or the purpose of an existing one changes, we will update this document — and where the change affects cookies that require consent, we will ask for it again. Any questions, write to hello@atypicaltech.com.
